Flights to Amritsar, India

Over the recent past few weeks, a number of you have enquired about booking Monarch Airline Flights to Amritsar. Despite all the publicity, we chose to not book these flights for our passengers. This may be us turning business away but our reputatation as Amritsar Travel is paramount.

Our position is that until a new airline establishes a track record, we will not offer these flights. Monarch Airline or also known as Bilga Air were planning to launch flights to Amritsar from Birmingham. We decided that it was too risky booking flights on a chartered airline before the airline has started operations.

This was a difficult decision for us since many potential passengers were frustrated with not being able to book BilgaAir Monarch Flights with Amritsar Travel.

However we have now been informed that BilgaAir has decided not to proceed with their operations and have cancelled all their flights from Birmingham to Amritsar. We are sorry to hear this since it would have been a great service to people in the West Midlands following Air India's cancellation of their non stop flight to Amritsar. We know the people behind Bilga Air have put in a great amount of effort but in the current climate it was always going to be difficult.

For the information of our passengers, we would like to inform them that Amritsar Travel has not booked a single seat on this the Monarch/ Bilga Air airline and we were not planning to book any tickets until the operation had been sucessfully established for a minimum of 3 months.

Therefore none of our passengers are affected by this.

We want to re-assure our customers that Amritsar Travel chooses which airline to sell or not. We do not take short term, quick profit decisions as we want to offer a service of the highest integrity. Hence we sell Turkmenistan Airlines and Jet Airways as the main carriers to Amritsar. These are scheduled airlines.

We still choose not to sell Air Slovakia or Royal Atlantic because they are chartered airlines. We would urge customers to ensure they are covered by an ATOL confirmation Invoice for their financial peace of mind.
